SKETCH RENDERINGS – Hand-generated general ideas about the product.PHOTOREALISTIC RENDERINGS – Computer-generated realistic representations of the product.ANIMATION & VIDEO – Conveying the design, usage and emotion in space and time.PROOF-OF-CONCEPT PROTOTYPE – Focused on limited aspects of the early design to evaluate feasibility.FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE – A ‘works like’ prototype that does not consider appearance or manfuacturablity.APPEARANCE PROTOTYPE – A ‘looks like’ prototype evaluate size, appearance, but not necessarily functionality.PRE-PRODUCTION PROTOTYPE – A fully-functional prototype with for testing and approval before release to production.PRODUCTION PACKAGE – All files (models, drawings, specifications, etc.) necessary to put the product into production.

Fidelity of requested deliverables:
CONCEPTUAL – Shows the main idea with a variety of potential high-level directions.REFINED CONCEPT – More detailed definition (including proportion, features, branding, etc.) but requires further interpretation before production.PROTOTYPE-READY – Refined to a level where a functional/appearance prototype can be made.PRODUCTION-READY – Ready to be handed off to a factory and put into production with little or no revision.
