We’ve had the pleasure of hosting the BYU’s Global Product Development class at our studio. It’s always fun to connect with local up and coming engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs. The group was lead by Chris Mattson and John Salmon who have been leading the charge for helping their understand the value of the design process beyond the traditional engineering approach.

During the tour we share the Rocketship philosophy that value of good design is creating product experiences. and how we incorporate four fundamental considerations with each product which are Utility, Usability, Expression, and Economics.

After the tour we held a Q&A and the group had some great questions about challenges we face in the industry, methodology to create a product that meets our design objectives, and how we run the business. Watch out for these students who are ready to jump in feet first!
