Don’t discount Utah when looking for the next big idea or groundbreaking start-up. Utah ranked first in innovation and entrepreneurship in a recent evaluation by The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and second in high-tech performance. CNBC even put Utah as the top state for businesses for 2016.

In an article published by CNBC, it’s easy to see why Utah thrives as a tech hot-spot with its low cost of living, business friendly atmosphere, and wealth of young talent coming from several prestigious universities including the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Utah State. The article points out that while the California market tops the charts in sheer numbers, you can’t beat the entrepreneurial spirit and growing network in what some are calling the Silicon Slopes. You can find a huge variety of Utah’s “Unicorn Companies” including Vivint, Goal Zero, Domo, and Qualtrics to name a few, all along the Salt Lake and Utah valleys.
